Kostal: Strengthening Employees’ Digital Skills

The challenges of the future are many and varied – not just with a view to digitalizing industrial production. The work content in manual assembly operations with partially automated areas is becoming more and more extensive and complex too, learning times are becoming shorter, the working environment is becoming more interdisciplinary and the scope for making decisions is greater. The partners involved in the PALM4.Q project on process-oriented and work-related learning in assembly operations – Leopold Kostal GmbH & Co. KG in Lüdenscheid und Deutsche MTM-Vereinigung e. V. – are working on a system to identify what kind of digital skills are required for various groups of employees.

New Webshop for MTM Training Courses Online from 7 January 2019!

Registration for MTM training courses will be even simpler in the future: The new online shop will go live at www.dmtm.com on 7 January 2019. The technical implementation of the new booking system will take place at the turn of the year.

Future Industrial Engineers Will Analyze in 3D

More than 180 industrial engineers from Bosch business locations all round the world attended the 32nd International Industrial Engineering Conference in Sonthofen (Allgäu) at the end of November. The title of the event was “Work Systems in a Digital World – Focusing on People” and experts from different corporate departments at Bosch drew attention to new problem-solving approaches and best practice examples. Deutsche MTM-Vereinigung e. V. attended the conference with a stand at the specialist exhibition and gave a lecture during the proceedings. Udo Baginski, Bosch and Dr. Thomas Finsterbusch from the MTM Academy also jointly arranged a workshop on the subject of “Human Work Design.”

"Excellent Lean Production - The Way to Business Sustainability"

“Excellent Lean Production – The Way to Business Sustainability” is the title of the book written by Dr. Norman Roth and Carsten zur Steege, which has now appeared in English at the German MTM Association’s own publishing house. The two internationally renowned managers have combined the classic lean ideas with the principles of the EFQM business excellence model to form a new model called Excellent Lean Production (ELP). This course of action for implementing a sustainable production system means that lean production and traditional industrial engineering now move even closer together.
