Basic MTM: Students Nominate the Course for the LehrLeo

Many corporations expect future employees to have a knowledge of MTM as a basic qualification in the field of industrial engineering or production scheduling. The Deutsche MTM-Vereinigung e. V. offers engineering, business management and business engineering students unique training in the form of “Basic MTM”. “Basic MTM” communicates practical specialist knowledge on the MTM Method – directly embedded in their ongoing studies or during the lecture-free periods. There is a strong demand for the courses at universities or higher education institutions like those in Munich, Dortmund, Chemnitz or Berlin. The participants on the most recent course at Braunschweig University of Technology nominated the course led by Anne Reimer, a research assistant at the university and MTM Instructor, for the LehrLeo. This is an internal prize for particularly interesting and successful events at the university. And there are no free places left for the Basic MTM course at Braunschweig University of Technology starting on 4 September 2017 either.

400 students on average make use of the training course in Germany every year. If participants successfully pass the exam, they receive the official certificates for MTM-1 (the basic MTM system) and MTM-UAS. This means that “Basic MTM” also forms the basis for ongoing training to become an MTM Practitioner. If participants have also successfully completed the MTM Practitioner seminar within three years of completing their degree course, they receive the MTM Practitioner diploma and the “blue card,” the internationally recognized certificate of proficiency as an MTM Practitioner.

Here is a summary of the benefits of Basic MTM at a glance:

  • Completing the course is a benefit for a person’s résumé – many corporations are deliberately looking for employees with MTM training.
  • Active training in using the method in a person’s later professional environment forms part of the MTM tuition.
  • Highly qualified instructors with extensive practical experience are available to communicate the knowledge in a clear and comprehensible manner.
