EAWS User Group: More members at the start

The declared aim of the newly founded EAWS User Group is to continue developing the EAWS process (Ergonomic Assessment Worksheet) – the international assessment standard for physical workloads at the workplace – in the proper manner and in a practical way. Alongside the following member corporations that have been actively involved for years (Brose, imk automotive, Miele, Stihl and Volkswagen), these new members are now represented on the user group too: BSH, Schaeffler, Siemens and SMA Technologies.

The major focus of the first working meeting of the EAWS User Group at the MTM Institute in Zeuthen was on content-related aspects of using EAWS and the development of what is known as EAWS Quick Screening. The members of the user group will draw up the requirements that their corporations have for an EAWS quick screening procedure by the next meeting that they attend.

Another issue concerned the long-term development of the ergonomic assessment tool for the user group – and in an international context too via the Technical Board of the IMD (International MTM Directorate). A suggestion was made at the meeting in Zeuthen to send a survey to all the EAWS user groups on how many workstations have already been assessed with EAWS around the globe.

Any other corporations that are interested in becoming involved the EAWS User Group should please contact Prof. Dr. Peter Kuhlang, Head of the MTM Institute and the coordinator of the user groups; his e-mail address is:
