MTM – Work design productive and safe

Honorary Membership and “MTM Fellow” Title Awarded

It is an excellent tradition to present awards to deserving members during the German MTM Conference. Honorary membership of MTM was awarded to Dr. Hans Fischer this year. He performed particularly great service in spreading MTM during his 13 years as Executive Director of Deutsche MTM-Vereinigung e. V. (German MTM Association) and, prior to that, as a member of the board and Chairman of the Board. He inspired and motivated many young people to get to grips with MTM in a profound way with his personal commitment and a great deal of passion. Fischer’s long-standing companion, Prof. Dr. Kurt Landau, who was the former Head of the Institute of Ergonomics at the Technical University of Dortmund (IAD), among other things, gave the speech in honor of Fischer.

Robert Meier from Airbus Defence and Space GmbH in Manching was named the “2017 MTM Fellow.” The project manager for operational excellence not only deals with current IT and MTM projects at domestic and international corporate sites, but also initiates and looks after various innovation topics related to MTM. As head of the Bavarian MTM/IE regional group, the MTM engineer is also dedicated to spreading MTM, pursuing an exchange of experiences with the MTM community and looking for new fields of application for MTM. Thorsten Junghanns, Head of the Group’s IE Department at Airbus Defence and Space and a member of the board at Deutsche MTM-Vereinigung e. V., gave the speech honoring Meier.
