Human-oriented work and promoting learning: MTM to attend the GfA spring congress with a lecture and a workshop

The German MTM Association will attend the spring congress organized by the Gesellschaft für Arbeitswissenschaft e. V. (GfA or Society for Ergonomics) in Zurich on 15 February 2017 and will present a lecture on designing human-oriented work for people and human/robot cooperation arrangements – and will hold a workshop organized jointly with the Research Institute for Operations Management at RWTH Aachen University, the board of the IG Metall union and the Institute for Innovation and Technology (iit).

Learning at work and promoting learning have been the subject of research work for many years – however, the practical capability to organize a digitized working world and promote learning is hardly available at any corporations. This is partly because the general conditions needed to encourage learning processes in everyday work or create conditions that promote learning are often missing. The aim of the workshop entitled “Turning workplaces into places of learning: ways to design work in the digital working world and promote learning” is to map out which factors exist for promoting and hindering learning, how relevant approaches can be circulated and which actors and partnerships are necessary for this.

We are particularly reaching out to specialists from corporations, representatives from human resources departments, manufacturers of information and assistance systems or learning and learning management media, experts in engineering, automation and organizational development as potential participants. The results of the workshop will be processed and published as a specialist article.
