MTM – Work design productive and safe

HWD® and EAWS: A Major Focus of Interest at International Ergonomics Conferences

GOErgo, the global organization for ergonomics, is holding its annual conference for applied ergonomics in Atlanta, USA, at the end of March 2018. Prof. Dr. Peter Kuhlang, Head of the Institute at Deutsche MTM-Vereinigung e. V. and the coordinator of the EAWS development project (Ergonomic Assessment Worksheet) and the MTM research projects, will be informing the international group of participants about the new methods and tools for comprehensive work design as well as the blended learning approach adopted by MTM.

The major focus of his contribution will be the MTM-HWD® process building block system, which combines the methodical and ergonomic design work in one stage in conjunction with EAWS, which is the international standard for assessing the ergonomic risk involved in any task. He will also mention practical application scenarios and the standardized training concept involving EAWS and MTM-HWD®. The latter is becoming increasingly important in the light of the international usage of methods and tools. Deutsche MTM-Vereinigung e. V. is currently developing an e-learning platform under the leadership of Peter Kuhlang. E-learning forms part of the blended learning concept within the E-Mas research project for exporting courses involving further training abroad.

Other international conferences, which Deutsche MTM-Vereinigung e. V. is attending this year, include the International Conference on Applied Human Factors and Ergonomics (AHFE 2018) in July in Orlando, USA, and the International Conference of the International Ergonomics Association (IEA) in Italy in August.
