MTM – Work design productive and safe

The Early Bird Catches the Worm: Creating Value along the PEP

19.04.2018
Last Call: The 2018 MTM Conference

Why are MTM users so successful? The best peope to answer this question are the MTM users themselves! The MTM Conference on 27 April 2018 will focus on methods, technologies, software and best-in-class solutions for creating value along the product emergence process (PEP). MTM experts from well-known corporations will provide exciting insights into the processes and the efficient approach for safeguarding productivity and competitiveness. One of the highlights in the specialist exhibition will be the new software made available by the MTM partner enterprise, Caresoft Global Inc., which is based in the Indian city of Pune; it provides a 3D image of all the parts used in constructing a vehicle.

The globally active LSG Sky Chefs catering company has developed a standard capacity planning and calculation model based on MTM-UAS for all its catering companies in Germany. The system is due to be rolled out in Europe during a second stage. Björn Habel, who is responsible for costing standards, will introduce the global standards for determining human resources requirements. Obtaining statements about the description of the process, the time and the ergonomics with just one planning analysis – that is possible, according to Tomáš Krček from Miele technika s.r.o. He will give a presentation on his practical experience with the new MTM-HWD® process building block system. Marquardt GmbH, one of the world’s leading manufacturers of switching systems, is one of the oldest MTM member corporations. Karl Jung, an MTM expert at the company, will report on MTM as a success factor – ranging from MTM-1 to MTM Logistics and ProKon.

Sandra Terkowski, who is responsible for logistics planning for compact cars, will provide some insight into the internal logistics used at Daimler AG. She says, “Designing the process landscape at an early stage is essential for efficient internal logistics.” Joachim Ruopp, the Technical Manager at AVS Aggregatebau GmbH, will demonstrate that digitalization is an important topic for medium-sized enterprises too. His lecture will focus on his experience with the MTM-on-Demand concept, which has been newly developed by MTM, to determine planning times simply, quickly and reliably. Jan Reschke, Head of Production Management at the FIR e. V. at RWTH Aachen University, will conclude the lecture program. He believes that Industry 4.0 corporations are more flexible than their market rivals, because they make decisions based on data and can therefore respond to changes more quickly.

Knuth Jasker, Executive Director of Deutsche MTM-Vereinigung e. V., will give the keynote address. He responds to the question about why MTM users are so successful in this way. “Because they do not wait until the production phase to create value, but do so during the product development stage – and then along the complete product emergence process (PEP). MTM users enjoy success because they prevent costs, instead of lowering them.”
